2011 Summer Camps in Richmond Hill

It’s almost time for your children to have their last day of school and start their summer vacation, but what do you have planned for them to keep them learning, having fun, getting exercise, and making new friends?  If you are drawing a blank, why not consider one of the many summer camps in Richmond Hill, as any one of them is a perfect way for your child to spend part of their summer break from school.  Whether your children will enjoy sports, crafts, swimming, or hiking, there is a camp this summer for all of them!

YMCA Summer Camp
The YMCA Summer Camp is designed to develop your children’s potential through adventure, new experiences, personal growth, new friendships, and lasting memories.  Children and teens will have the chance to explore nature at the Y’s Day Camp.  YMCA campers gain new experiences, develop essential social skills and create lifelong friendships, while enjoying camp adventures along the way.  As a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y works to help children and teens discover their full potential by providing opportunities to learn, grow and thrive amidst caring, supportive adults.  The Richmond Hill YMCA is located at 154 Thunderbird Drive, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.

Burton 4-H Summer Day Camp
From July 11-15, your children can experience a true summer day camp the way it was meant to be…with beach activities!  Burton 4-H features a dolphin cruise, mini golf and batting cages, river street shopping, fort pulaski tour, visits with the sea turtles, talent show and cookout, snake and alligator handling (for the brave ones!), and the best part; beach time every day!  Transportation to and from Whitemarsh Island is provided ever day of camp.  Registration is needed by June 30, so don’t wait any longer to reserve a spot for your child!  Burton 4-H Center is located at 9 Lewis Avenue, Tybee Island.

Sports Camps
There are a variety of sports camps offered throughout Richmond Hill and Bryan County to keep your kids active, energized, entertained, and having fun throughout their summer vacation.

  • Junior Rangers - Held at Fort McAllister State Historic Park for children ages 8-12.  Features a historical program day, nature hikes, crabbing contest, a canoe day and much more.  Runs June 27-July 1 and July 11-19.
  • Challenger Soccer Camps – For children ages 3-16, held at Hendrix Park.
  • Robert Sapp Baseball Camp – Held at Richmond Hill Park for children ages 7-14.
